Magic of the Ordinary is fortunate to have been given permission to release one more Aura Paper, Aura Paper XXV, “On the Diseases of the Aura”.
As with the other Aura Papers, it is easy view this one as outdated and having little to offer, and that would be a mistake. There are very interesting little gems here. What struck me most after re-typing it (why don’t 5.25 Inch floppies last when stored for twenty years in a barn in York?) was the display of compassion to those suffering mental and auric afflictions. The scanned version is not the best, but there you go
It’s fairly long so i won’t put the text up here.
Enjoy and hopefully more within the next few weeks.

"We are tied together in the single garment of destiny, caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. And whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the way God’s universe is made; this is the way it is structured." ~

How does my spiritual practice and daily life serve the earth?
How does my spiritual practice and daily life affect the poorest third of humanity?
How will my spiritual practice and daily life affect the generations to come in the future?

“For most of us, however, we only think seriously of food or sex or money when it becomes a problem, which is to say when we feel we are not getting our share. When we find ourselves in that situation then I regret to say that meditational visualisations are really not the best way to remedy the lack. … We are here in a physical condition in a physical world and while in that state we have to abide by the laws appropriate to it.”
"The biblical texts have been strained out through a Greek/Latin mindset, which is very surface and static. I sometimes think it would have actually have been better if Western culture had based so called "Western religion" on Greek philosophy, rather than middle-eastern, because then at least you'd have all one thing. It would be eternally consistent. But what we have now is sort of half of each. And you're left with a basically schizophrenic tradition."

Well done Peregrin in releasing these.
I suspect that Cicero got the Aura papers from T.F who has the entire collection.
I have been battling the old school on the public release of
all Golden Dawn materials for years and made some powerful enemies in maintaining this stance.
Should we restrict Shakespeare or the Holy Bible – No. If it wasn’t for people like us, the Bible would remain locked in the domain of an inner circle of Priests.
So once again you have may full support and appreciation in your work. Human Knowledge belongs to the world, to be made freely available to all, and not to a few hoarders in
their isolationist snug of un-scanned private collections.
I have a collection of some original G.D scanned materials at:

you are all your readers are welcome to use these materials.

Hi there V.H. Fr A.C.A.S,
thank you for the comment. Yes i expect it is Tony that is Chic’s source.
Thank you for the link. It is very useful and much appreciated. I came across some of Frank Salt’s writing while cataloging the Simon Goodman collection at Murdoch Uni. Not sure where HE got them from.
thank you again and good luck with your work,
Peregrin
Ave,
Peregin – as ever, thank you for sharing these. I look forward to more, and hope that you can publish them
Ormus – they download and display fine for me. It would be unfair of me to rehost them, as they are not my work, but if you want me to email you a copy, post your email address here. Potentially you need to update your Adobe software, however.
V.H. Fr. ACAS – thank you for sharing the link and password. I’m tempted by the Ceremonies section, but I understand that this is reserved for Whare Atua members. The other material is very intriguing, however, and I applaud the decision to allow a greater readership to view them.
LVX,
Dean.
Thank You Dean / Peregin for you supportive comments.
What private collectors need to release that in our Open Source philosophy that we build upon the work of those before. So in the terms of Cromlech or Frank Salt etc,
magicians use these (and others) and evolve from there.
What a F* world we would have, if every engineer had
to begin with designing the wheel! same for everything.
Yes ceremonies is reserved for members only .. politics out
of my control unfortunately
Question: In terms of ‘Simon Goodman’ do you mean Ian Watts
a student of Alex Sanders (Witch King of Hastings UK). I.e. the person who took Alexandrian Wicca to Australia? If so
the ‘Cockroach Papers’ are very interesting…
ACAS
Hi there Fr ACAS,
Yes, Ian Watts. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the Cockroach Papers.
Simon (as he liked to be called) donated his collection to Murdoch University Library shortly before he died. I was working there at the time. I moved the boxes of books etc into the special collections section on my day off, after they were collected. I noted then the Cockroach Papers when moving the boxes.
I came back to work a week later and found the Special Collections librarian, being the kind trusting soul he is, had let three Wiccans into the collection before it was cataloged and security tagged. They used false names but he described them well enough for me to be pretty sure who they were. Anyway they left without calling him back to escort them out and after they had visited the Cockroach Papers were nowhere to be found
Who knows what else they took? In the end though it saved the library a little bit of hassle as we received a threat of legal action for holding the Papers from a Wiccan Priestess whose husband had put his name to the publication. Oh, what strange times the eighties were
The collection though was very good and i guess, thinking about it now, i should put up some material here for the Pagans and Wiccans out there. There is also some Guardians material, letters from Michael Freedman and (the New Zealand) Magic Pentacle I am sure you are familiar with
Peregrin
I have a copy of the “Cockroach Papers”…
One of Simon Goodman’s successors to his Order the
‘Convanventus Quercus’ was a Stuart B who provided me
with these for private use. However as he had left Q.C
he couldn’t give me permissions for a Wiccan Order or
publication. Stuart B who had left Q.C and was succeeded
by Paul J.C who is the present Magister of C.Q. Paul J.C
provided me with permission to use within Ordrine Scatere
Stellae, but very restricted to inner membership.
Anyone else claiming legalities over these has no right too.
Regrettably I can release these at present. However I would
love for the University to have my copy of these. Perhaps we can work something out.. but will need to get permissions.
Australia/N.Z has a very rich esoteric culture

Hello Fr ACAS,
thank you for the info and the inevitable trip down memory lane
The links are very informative too
Ta.
If you can find a way to restore the papers to the university, that would be good
Thanks for thinking about this.

[...] 6, 2008 by Peregrin It only occurred to me when replying to comments on this post, where I mentioned the Simon Goodman collection, that I have (copied and stored somewhere) some [...]
I would need an official request from the University for a copy of the Cockroach papers.
Peregrin,
With regards to Lenny/Jean de Cabilis’ comment regarding the “Cockroach Papers”…
“Paul J.C who is the present Magister of C.Q. Paul J.C
provided me with permission to use within Ordrine Scatere
Stellae, but very restricted to inner membership. Anyone else claiming legalities over these has no right too.”
The Cockroach papers/ biography-history document I would say would be copywrite the authors not Simon or his successors. Use of other C.Q/Simon Goodman documents and material may have been granted to Jean de Cabilis by Paul/James however his above statement is incorrect as this succesor also gave permission for use to other individuals and Wiccan groups over the years (such as myself).
Regards
Cian MacFhiarais
Re: Cain’s comment.
Cian my well be correct. However my understanding was that only the C.Q (Paul) had ownership rights to the Ian Watts material, via successorship – hence my above comment.
BTW There is an interesting Gregory addition to the Cockroach papers..
Hi Peregrin
If you contact me with you postage address I will
post you with my copy of the ‘Cockroach Papers’
by Simon Goodman.
I have no use for it and believe you could make
better use for it.
BTW I am do not believe that it was written by Julia on behalf of Simon Goodman. There is good history contained within this document with all relevant persons in Australia at that time. You can come to your own conclusions.
Cheers
Lenny
