"We are tied together in the single garment of destiny, caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. And whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the way God’s universe is made; this is the way it is structured." ~
“A religion without a goddess is halfway to atheism” ~
How does my spiritual practice and daily life serve the earth?
How does my spiritual practice and daily life affect the poorest third of humanity?
How will my spiritual practice and daily life affect the generations to come in the future?
"It is through your body that you realize you are a spark of divinity."
“For most of us, however, we only think seriously of food or sex or money when it becomes a problem, which is to say when we feel we are not getting our share. When we find ourselves in that situation then I regret to say that meditational visualisations are really not the best way to remedy the lack. … We are here in a physical condition in a physical world and while in that state we have to abide by the laws appropriate to it.”
"The biblical texts have been strained out through a Greek/Latin mindset, which is very surface and static. I sometimes think it would have actually have been better if Western culture had based so called "Western religion" on Greek philosophy, rather than middle-eastern, because then at least you'd have all one thing. It would be eternally consistent. But what we have now is sort of half of each. And you're left with a basically schizophrenic tradition."
This was a good interview. I may have to listen to it again when I’m able to sit and listen, as opposed to moving around in the kitchen and office. I also wish that I could see you both, or see images of the specific things you were talking about.
I’m also totally re-reading parts of your blog in your voice, now. It’s rather odd, now that I know what you sound like.
That said, I guess my own biggest challenge is in having a sense of my relationship to GD material. I’ve worked through a good deal of the Regardie material solo; I’ve done Equinox ceremonies both solo and in group work. And I alternately feel welcomed into the GD tradition by the egregore, and shoved out. It’s a very strange awareness. Your book, combined with the work on the kavad, made me realize I had my own relationship to the Divine and to the intermediaries, but there’s still a part of me that longs for a magical community that works in a common tradition and isn’t always dominated by the same ten or twelve people. On the other hand, maybe that’s sort of the way magical communities are. Don’t know.
Thanks, Andrew
Yes, the addition of a voice is very funny – as is my voice itself
It is interesting what you say about the egregore – it can be a fickle beast. I think also a magical lodge or group working that egregore can solidify it for it its members.
Domination by a handful of people always seems the norm – in the public community. There are many groups and people not seen very much though.

ohh i have just downloaded this and am now going to here you voice.. i am looking forward to that, its always nice to put a voice to the author of a blogg i have been stalking.. err i mean reading.. *beams*
Great podcast Peregrin and Greg, intelligent questions and answers, thanks for this.
What a wonderful and insightful interview. And I love your accent! You talk with the same sensibility and wisdom that is so familiar in the tone of your blog. I think it’s absolutely right that the book will feed into the GD egregore over time as more people read it and make their own inner plane connections through it.
Thanks, Rebsie, Mike, Polly and all… my voice is a product of learning to speak as a child while peregrinating between various countries and army nursery schools… I have had it labelled as anything from English to Zimbabwean
You’ve been silent a good long while. Almost a month. Is everything all right?
You’re in my prayers, friend.
hi Andrew,
thanks for your concern and lovely message. Nothing major – just normal trials and tribulations of domesticated western life, where people get sick etc. A difficult time meaning my online presence goes on the back burner. In any case, my traditions and my work (with refugees) reminds me constantly that I am very, very blessed compared with most of the world.
THANKS
