Just quickly. Out now (or soon) is the Pamela Colman Smith Commemorative Tarot Set. It is so good that the deck is finally being renamed to reflect the spiritual artistry and vision of Pamela Colman Smith . It has only taken a 100 years! I’ve blogged a little about Pamela before and she remains an inspiration and guiding presence in my esoteric life. I am not a big user of the Tarot as a divination tool and the GD teaches us to make our own, so unless I come across the deck cheaply somewhere I am not likely to buy it. But it’s good to know it’s out there.
When I was first initiated into the Golden Dawn there was only the limpid and uninspiring Robert Wang GD deck around (sorry, it is – but his Qabalistic Tarot is well worth a read). So I used Pamela’s deck for the first few years, meditating upon it, sleeping with the cards and generally falling in love with it using techniques described in this post. Even now years and decks later I still have a deep relationship with all of the cards and images. It has been such a gift.
