New Esoteric Christian Correspondence Course

I saw this mentioned on Gareth Knight’s blog and immediately wandered over to check it out.

It all looks very good and the guide for the course, John Porter, seems like a very nice chap too. For anyone interested in approaching the western mysteries from a traditional esoteric Christian point of view (i.e. before TS influenced ‘esoteric Christianity’) this is probably one of the best avenues you are going to find. It looks interesting enough that I am thinking of going back to the student round again and signing up 🙂

OK… normal MOTO programming and whining will resume shortly 🙂

I am signing up as well! Glad to see that this is getting more attention.

    Good luck!

    Good luck, too Michael 🙂

I am looking forward to it. even though I went through Experience of the Inner Worlds practically years back, it is always good to revisit the tradition and know the place for the first time (stealing from Eliot) 🙂

When you say that you went through Experience of the Inner Worlds, do you mean that you took part in a course of some sort or that you worked through the book material solo?

    Hi Michael,

worked through the book solo. Back in 89/90. Was just out of a pagan group and in a GD Order – none of my pagan buddies could see past the Christian flavour and the GD folk thought they had all they needed 🙂 So had to go alone. Good experience though 🙂

I too worked through Experience of the Inner Worlds many years ago – under the supervision of the Gareth Knight Group – and although the overtly Christian presentation didn’t always chime with my essentially pagan soul, there is enough depth here to make it a powerfully rewarding foundation for any kind of esoteric work. There are sound reasons for rooting it within a Christian framework, but it’s really following very closely upon the “threefold way” of Dion Fortune, and its principles can be applied to any tradition.

I can personally vouch for John Porter – a very nice bloke with great wisdom and integrity. I worked with him for many years in the GK Group and I can’t think of anybody better placed to run this course. I’m really thrilled that he’s doing this.

    Hi Rebsie,

thanks for your comments and insights. Yes, I am very excited by the course and am glad it is on offer. I agree that if we let our personal religious persuasions stop us finding the very wonderful gems in Experience of the Inner Worlds, we are the ones that miss out.

How wonderful it must have been to go through it all within the GK group 🙂 I am glad someone from that direct experience is now offering this course 🙂
